Our History

Piece of Mind was founded in 2019 in Vaalpark, Free State, with a heartfelt mission: to create a safe, supportive learning environment for neurodiverse children. We began with just eight learners and the incredible blessing of a sponsored facility—proof that with purpose and passion, small beginnings can lead to great things.

Over the next three years, our Vaalpark campus grew to serve more than 50 learners, offering specialised education tailored to developmental needs. In response to increasing demand, we expanded into Gauteng, opening our second branch in Midstream.

The Midstream campus launched with 40 learners. As part of our long-term vision, we are building toward a capacity of 100 learners by 2028, ensuring more families can access the support and education their children deserve.

Today, Piece of Mind continues to grow—guided by compassion, driven by purpose, and committed to unlocking the potential in every child.

Vision

Empowering Every Learner to Rise Beyond Developmental Challenges

At Piece of Mind, we envision a future where developmental challenges are not limitations, but stepping stones to personal growth, academic achievement, and meaningful participation in society. Our vision is to empower neurodiverse learners with the tools, support, and confidence they need—not just to succeed in school, but to flourish in life.

We are committed to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child is seen, valued, and equipped to reach their full potential. Through specialised programs, targeted interventions, and a deep understanding of each learner’s unique journey, we help transform challenges into opportunities for success.

Our goal is to guide learners through a successful school career while preparing them for life beyond the classroom—building resilience, independence, and social-emotional skills that enable them to integrate confidently into their communities. Whether it's forming friendships, pursuing careers, or contributing meaningfully to society, we believe every child deserves the chance to live a fulfilling life.

At Piece of Mind, we don’t just teach—we empower, uplift, and inspire lifelong growth.
